Shows and events in Vienna
A large number of events are hosted in Vienna and it would be difficult to list them all; there are two magazines providing all the necessary information, Vienna-Programm and Viennaer, Falter, listing details on all the events, festivals and fêtes in the city throughout the year. The most important of all these, which simply cannot be missed, include the Neujahrskonzert or New Year’s Concert, which is broadcasted internationally from the Grossen Saal of the Musikverein and is without a doubt the most important event in the city; and also the Viennaer Festwochen: a music festival that takes place from May to June; the Viennaer Fasching: the famous Viennese carnival, with dances and balls; the Viennale: the world-famous international film festival.
