Rome is characterized by the Mediterranean climate.
During winter, temperatures range between 5ºC and 15ºC, while in summer they can rise up to 35°. Even though the climate can be very sultry in summer, we need to remind you that, to enter most of the buildings (churches and religious structures), it is necessary to wear an appropriate and decorous dress (pants or skirts under knees and no bare shoulders).
Spring and summer are the best periods to visit the city (good weather and few rain). However, tourist flows follow a different course respect to other capitals, due to the presence of the Vatican. Consequently, in occasion of important religious feasts (Christmas, Easter, Pentecost) or relevant catholic events (youth days), the city can register high peaks of tourists.
