The ancient city of the Olympic Games is one of the most important sites of the ancient world.

It’s impossible not to be impressed by the magnificent ruins of the gymnasium, the stadium with the Olympic athletics track, the temple of Zeus and invaluable testimonies exposed at the archaeological museum.

In Olympia the first Olympic Games took place in 776 BC and during their progress the wars were stopped and rivalries were put aside.
They also expressed the ideal balance between body and spirit that allowed the athletes to get closer to the gods.

The first modern edition was instead held in Athens in 1896.
