Crossing the Lion Gate, who leads to the Acropolis, gives the shivers of mystery.
These ruins, belonging to the Mycenaean civilization, date from the seventeenth century BC to the twelfth, more than 7 centuries before the Acropolis
of Athens.
Here the expedition against Troy was planned, according to the Homer’s Iliad.
In high season it is full of people and during the central hours of the day is not possible to explore the beautiful ruins in peace. Unlike Delphi and Olympia there is not enough space to properly distribute the flow of visitors. Anyway, it remains a place not to miss.
