Cars: Driving is on the reverse in comparison with Italy: the cars have the driving seat on the right and you must keep on the left on the roads. In every case, at junctions and roundabout's, unless otherwise stated, priority is given to vehicles coming from the left.
The speed limits are: 50 km/h in city centres, 80 or 100 km/h on main roads and 120 km/h on motorways. The main roads are generally fairly narrow and tortuous so the established speed limit is very low.
For such reason, actual distance between locations is often longer than how it appears on a map.
Places and alcohol: In pubs it's illegal to sell alcohol to people under 18 and the bar-person can ask patrons for ID. In some places there's no entry for people under 18 or even 21.
Time: In Ireland it's Greenwich Mean Time, an hour earlier than in Italy. In this country, legal summertime is also used.
