Cork

The city of Cork is situated in the south of the country and is connected to Dublin by a motorway with intervals of normal roads, for which it's good to take into account half a days travel, especially if taking the opportunity to visit other locations along the way such as Cashel.

The city grew thanks to river transport, the centre is enclosed among the arteries of the Lee river, whilst the suburbs are characterised by a continuous up and down of crammed streets which branch out onto the hills surrounding the city.

Second biggest city in Ireland, Cork is mostly a central spot for visiting nearby locations, such as the estuary or the marsh lands in Killarney's natural park.
