By car
The five villages of Cinque Terre are connected with each other through roads, but the access by car inside the villages is forbidden. The roads are in fact too narrow and the little streets are not of easy access, therefore the whole area is pedestrian. Not even the inhabitants can drive through it. Outside the city centres there are parking areas and a little further from the villages it is possible to park along the road, but in any case, a lot of patience is always required!
On foot
There are many pedestrian paths and trails connecting the five villages. The Love Path is an easy street, flat and accessible with all kinds of shoes, while for the other trails a suitable dress and equipment is required. In all cases, walks are recommendable with good weather conditions. Trails, in fact, require a running time between 5 and 13 hours, and can be divided into legs
In order to preserve the environment of the Cinque Terre, and to enhance the use of trails by those who appreciate its peculiar morphology, the National Park authority has introduced the Cinque Terre Cards.
By train
The railway line which connects all the five villages represents the best way to move inside the National Park, if you want to avoid to walk. Also for those arriving by car, it is highly recommendable to park their cars and move by train from one village to the other, to avoid a long research of parking, and to better enjoy the holiday.
By boat
Boats are also a good way to reach the Cinque Terre. Line services operate to all villages with the exception of Corniglia, and the journey is worth by itself !
Warning
Boats operate only with good weather conditions, and may be subject to cancellations or delays in case of bad weather or wavy sea, therefore it is always recommendable to ask information on services and timetables.
