The Cinque Terre are set between the sea and the mountain chain of the Apennines.
The presence of the sea makes the climate notably milder, while the vicinity of the mountains causes frequent but short showers, especially in spring and autumn.
The best period to visit the Cinque Terre is in summer, when the average temperatures reaches 30° during the day. However, summer is also a period of overcrowding. For the snow lovers, during winter months it is possible to practice all kinds of sports.
