Entry requirements

Neither passport nor visa is required for European citizens of the Member States. A valid identity card is sufficient. Most of the European driving licenses are accepted.

Travelling with pets

Small sized pets like cats, dogs and ferrets must travel with animal passport (in force since 2004) and have an identification microchip or tattoo. Also, they must be vaccinated against rabies.

Health and safety

Both private and public health structures are excellent. No vaccination is required. It is advisable to bring the magnetic card for health assistance. General safety is good, there are no danger zones.

Climate

Liechtenstein is characterised by a typically alpine climate, with cool windy summers and cold snowy winters. Winter temperatures are influenced by the warm wind called Fon.

Economy

Based on the per capita income, Liechtenstein is said to be the richest country in the world. The most developed fields are agriculture, animal breeding, textile industry and winter tourism, but the huge wealth of the state comes from the bank system.

Post offices have the following opening hours: Monday to Friday from 7.45 am to 12 am, and from 14 pm to 18 pm. Saturday from 8 to 11 am. Banks are generally open Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 16.30 pm. Mobile phone coverage is excellent.
