Entry requirements

Neither passport nor visa is required for European citizens of the Member States. A valid identity card with a validity of at least 3 months is sufficient. Most of European driving licenses are accepted.

Travelling with pets

Small sized pets like cats, dogs and ferrets must travel with animal passport (in force since 2004) and have an identification microchip or tattoo. Also, they must be vaccinated against rabies.

Health and safety

Public health structures are sufficient, private structures are good. No vaccination is required, although it is advisable to bring the magnetic card for health assistance.
General safety is good, there are no danger zones

Climate

The Country is characterised by a temperate climate, with rainy hot summers (but never sultry) and very cold humid winters. There might be some snowfalls.

Form of government

Czech Republic separated from Slovakia on 28th January 1993, becoming a parliamentary republic.

Economy

The Country’s economy is currently undergoing a renovation process aiming at the privatization and development of the infrastructures. The industrial sector employs half of the workforce, and it is based on shoe making, textile, glass, metal, mechanical and chemical industry. Czech Republic is an exporter of coal, cars, shoes, food products and iron and steel- derived products, whereas the main imports are represented by oil, fuels, machines and equipment for telecommunications. As for agriculture, cereals, sugar beetroots and organic and oil seeds represent the main cultivations. Tourism is an important sector.
